Step outside of the box and consider what the Irish College Leuven has to offer.

Learn International is proud to partner with Irish College Leuven, a prestigious and long-standing college in the heart of Belgium. The College’s commitment to the student experience, exceptional placements and strong ties to the Irish community are all in line with Learn International’s values.

Irish College Leuven offers unique placement opportunities to students a stone’s throw away from one of the world’s most powerful political capitals – Brussels. Given Leuven’s proximity to the EU Parliament, as well as leading European headquarters and research facilities, it has a particular strength in Political Science and High Tech IT placements.

As all of the internships are through English, this is a unique opportunity for you to be based in the heart of multilingual Europe and intern without a language barrier.

Find Your Perfect Internship

Our placements are currently based in Leuven, Belgium, however some may find you spending some of your time in Brussels. A lot of time and care will be spent matching your skills and goals to a customised placement just for you.

What will I learn?

Our internships revolve around learning. Past students describe it like a sandbox: the chance to hone skills, develop new ones, and build confidence through experimentation and getting out of your comfort zone.

We can provide certified work hours, placement assessments and feedback to satisfy your university’s requirements for academic credit.

Internships also include the mentoring, support and learning goals that are often absent from graduate jobs.

What's Included:

  • Guaranteed internship placement
  • Student residence accommodation with breakfast and dinner
  • Application, résumé, cover letter and interview guidance
  • Excursions and social activities
  • Robust virtual orientation prior to starting the placement
  • Online learning portal
  • Cultural highlights, guest lectures and virtual events throughout the programme
  • 24/7 in-country support
  • €150 stipend towards a professional development course of your choosing
  • Certificate of completion
  • Alumni network
  • Optional airport transfer (extra fee)
  • Optional academic credit through our School of Record or your home university (extra fee)

Airfare, materials for placement, visa and associated costs, mandatory health insurance, some meals and spending money aren’t included.

Costs

We’re small, which helps us keep our fees competitive despite the fully customised programme we offer each student.

  • 8 week programme: €6700

  • 10 week programme: €7880

  • 12 week programme: €9050

There’s an additional application fee of €95 and a participant commitment fee of €500, which are both non-refundable. Airfare, optional airport transfer, materials for placement, mandatory health insurance, lunches and spending money aren’t included.

Professional Development Course

Learn International is dedicated to the commitment of lifelong learning. As such, your internship programme will include up to a €150 stipend towards enrolment onto a professional development course of your choosing to enroll in and complete while you’re on your internship.

For interns who decide not to avail of this opportunity, there will be no additional discount or cash back. Additional terms and conditions apply. Ask your Learn International Internship Coordinator for more information.
