Experience in non-domestic markets means exposure to new audiences, new consumer behaviour, new ad formats, and of course another product and industry. All of which, employers feel, makes a marketing graduate more innovative, creative, and practical.

This is a chance to see and work with a new set of cultural, political, and socioeconomic factors that affect reaching audiences. You will test your social, written, and verbal skills while developing your marketing instincts and learning from the industry professionals around you.

Your placement will be in a small or medium-sized company in Ireland, putting you in the front row for strategy formation, execution, and results of every marketing initiative. You may be working on traditional, above-the-line or below-the-line channels, in digital and social media, or across them all in public relations.

Tasks could include audience research, focus groups, social media management, copywriting, editing, graphic design, and presentation. Past interns reported that as their comfort level in the role increased, so did their responsibilities.

It’s a great chance to make international contacts while expanding your marketing and advertising portfolio.

My visit to Ireland completely exceeded my expectations. I have to be honest, initially I imagined I needed to be an outdoor person to enjoy the country! I was definitely wrong. Ireland is a place where I want to be outdoors as much as possible. The imagery is so captivating and its visuals vary across the land. The landscapes are very alluring and simple to hike around.
