Start your European adventure in Lille, where study abroad meets the heart of Europe.

Engineering in Lille programme offers students a unique academic experience in Lille, France, one of Europe’s leading university cities and a growing hub for innovation, engineering, and international business.

Designed intentionally for engineering students, this summer study abroad programme combines degree-applicable technical coursework with cultural immersion and international perspective-building.

Students will study under the guidance of faculty and instructors from Université Catholique de Lille and supported by Learn International’s on-the-ground team in France. The curriculum features foundational engineering and science courses commonly found in U.S. engineering degree plans, including Physics II, Materials Science, Thermodynamics, and Organic Chemistry, alongside opportunities to enroll in Université Catholique de Lille’s standard summer offerings in areas such as humanities, social sciences, business, and European studies.

Beyond the classroom, students will engage with the region through organised cultural activities, excursions, and interactions with local and international students. Situated near Belgium and within easy reach of Paris, Lille provides an ideal setting for students to develop global awareness, cross-cultural communication skills, and an appreciation for the role of engineering and innovation in an increasingly interconnected world.

The programme is designed to support academic progress toward degree completion while providing students with a meaningful international experience that enhances both their personal and professional development.

Students earn transferable U.S. academic credit through the Learn International’s School of Record, while living and studying in Lille—one of France’s most vibrant university cities.
