Learn International is a study abroad provider offering programmes in Europe to higher education institutions and students from the USA. We coordinate academic programmes, internships and semester terms for students over the age of 18 and are actively enrolled in a university in their home country. All students speak English and receive credits towards their degree programme.

This is a very varied role and you will be contributing to every aspect of the business. 1) You will take ownership of specific projects and be expected to give 100% at all times to deliver on our mission to provide the highest quality Study Abroad programmes to our partner institutions. 2) You will be working with the team in a collegiate environment to meet tight deadlines. 3) You will understand the realities of working in a demanding customer centric environment and have great attention to detail. 4) Flexibility, enthusiasm and dedication to serving students and education abroad.

Summary of Duties:

This full-time position reports to the: Internships and Study Abroad Manager. This position requires the candidate to work remotely and occasionally in the office. Schedules are flexible.

Internship Placements Recruitment and Relationship Management (50% of the role)

  • Sourcing and onboarding host companies for 8-12 week placements in Ireland and the United Kingdom for: Engineering, Communications , Digital Marketing, Computer Science, Architecture, Social Care and a variety of other areas.
  • Source networking events to recruit host companies
  • Site visits to host companies and contract coordination
  • Relationship management for new and existing companies
  • Other as assigned

Student Support and Operations (40% of the role)

  • Advising interested students, reviewing applications and setting up interviews
  • Liaising with host companies for interviews and programme logistics
  • Updating pre-departure and onsite orientations materials
  • Airport meet and greets and providing in-person orientations, walking tours etc.
  • Sourcing and coordinating accommodation for homestays or student residences
  • Remote support and on-the-ground support for programmes as required
  • Emergency phone rotation among Learn International team
  • Group leader for occasional excursions and field trips
  • Organising excursions and field trips for students: including transportation, guest lecturers, accommodation, meals and entry tickets to venues.
  • Other duties as required

Admin and Other Duties (10% of the role)

  • Support for semester and faculty-led programmes as required
  • Ability to work in ZOHO CRM for all communications and google suite
  • Ability to design posts for social media in CANVA
  • Collecting students videos, photos and written testimonials
  • Updating website and social media content
  • Updating print materials and managing campaigns to partners in Zoho
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in experience from a reputable university with a background in: Recruitment, Human Resources, Tourism, Event Planning or a related field
  • Legal ability to work in Ireland – proof of visa or EU passport required
  • Local knowledge of Dublin and Galway, Ireland with a network of companies to connect with
  • Experience working within a budget and negotiating costs with providers
  • A demonstrated sensitivity to student needs and cultural differences
  • Ability to work autonomously, remotely and as a team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to effectively prioritise tasks and responsibilities.
  • Confidence to manage, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment regarding confidential information and GDPR regulations
  • Up-to-Date Manual Handling Certificate (proof required)
  • Agreeable to a Garda Clearance or background check
  • Reliable transportation and ability to use rental cars with full clean driver’s license
  • Strong IT skills – Google Suite, Social Media, Canva, experience with Zoho or similar CRM and Adobe

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Local knowledge of London, England and Cardiff, Wales
  • Written and verbal fluency in French or other European language(s)
  • Website design and developer knowledge for Zoho
  • Up-to-Date CPR & First Aid Certification

Salary Package:

  • 35,000-40,000 Euros – based on experience
  • Company pension

Internships with us are available year-round

It is always good to shake up the marketing strategy and help to impletment new ideas. If you’re interested in working in marketing, we will ask you to you focus on various promotional and marketing projects according to our needs and your interests.

Role requirements

  • Ability to stay on-task with little supervision
  • Reliable, high-speed internet available to you during specified working hours*
  • Personal computer or laptop with functional speakers and microphone; webchat headset preferred (for virtual placements)
  • WhatsApp downloaded and installed on their mobile phone
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Creativity and a positive, proactive attitude are essential
  • Knowledge of SEO, video editing and graphic design desirable

* For virtual placements. Normal business hours are in the Irish time zone, GMT+1 in the summer. Interns must be available to speak in-person with their supervisor for at least 1-2 hours per day, Monday-Friday. The rest of the work schedule can be flexible.

  • There will be a high degree of autonomy within the role, and the intern will report to Michelle Yalch, Internships and Study Abroad Manager.
