This weekend was the best experience I have had in Ireland so far! I left Dublin Friday afternoon for Galway. My friend and I stayed in a hostel near the train station and the touristy city center, so it was very convenient. The hostel was big and had different dorms for girls, boys, and co-ed dorms. Our roommate was from Northern Ireland and was excited to see Galway. We got to know each other and spent a lot of time talking between activities during the day. When we arrived Friday night, we went to a restaurant for dinner and explored the surrounding area. It was beautifully lit up and the Galway Bay was shining in the moon light. It was picture perfect! Saturday, we started off our morning by going to get breakfast and watched the rugby game. It was a great way to immerse myself in the Irish culture. Though we lost the game, it was worth watching some of it. We went to the Galway City Museum, the Galway Aquarium, and to several cafes and restaurants throughout the day. There was so much history and beautiful sites everywhere. I have never done so much walking! It was totally worth it to get to see all Galway had to offer. On Sunday, we went to see the Forthill Cemetery and then spent a few hours walking around the shops in the city center. All in all, the food was amazing, the people were fun, and I got to spend time with other tourist who were excited about being in Galway too. It was an amazing adventure!
On Sunday night when I arrived back in Dublin, my host sister and I went to “The Nightmare Realm”. It was super scary and a lot of fun. It was great to spend some quality time with her. Nothing brings two people closer than sharing a terrifying experience! Afterwards, we went to a restaurant for dinner and I got to see Dublin city center all lit up at night. It was amazing. We really got to bond and make some memories that will last a life time. We will hopefully get to spend more time together and get the chance to make more memories outside of the house.
