While I intern in Ireland, I make sure I get out and explore. Dublin is not too far from Naas so I thought this would be a great first adventure. I am comfortable with public transportation and Dublin is a quick 40 minute bus ride to the city centre. Below is the itinerary of a fun day in Dublin.

I took the 9:15 am Bus from Naas to Dublin.

I hopped off the bus at the Arlington Hotel stop along River Liffey.

I crossed Ha’Penny Bridge towards my first stop, the Temple Bar Saturday Market.

I made it to the market just as it was opening at 10:00. The walk from the bus stop was about 10 minutes.

I enjoyed stalls of fruits, vegetables, pastries, and food trucks .

I then made my way to the Guinness Storehouse, which was a 20 minute walk from Temple Bar.

Guinness Storehouse was a self guided tour that took about 2 hours and expanded 7 floors. The tour provided brewing facts, photos, videos, and info on the history of the family and the product. I finished the tour with a complimentary drink in the panoramic bar with views of the city.

After the Guinness Storehouse tour, I made my way back to the city centre and stopped at Murphy’s Ice Cream for an Irish ice cream treat. I recommend the sea salt and the butterscotch.

I continued walking towards and then around Merrion Square and was able to snap some shots of the infamous Dublin Doors.

I made my way back to the bus walking down Nassua Street and bounced in and out of the shops.

It was a clear day up until I was waiting for the evening bus back to Naas. It was a fun day of walking and city exploring. I am excited to head back for more exploring.
