Role Description:

This is a key individual contributor role responsible for the efficient operation of our internship and semester programs, focusing on both technical oversight of the ZOHO CRM system and the development of student programs. The successful candidate will streamline processes, manage student and host company relationships, and ensure the effective placement and support of students during their programs. Working closely with the Director of Operations and other teams, this role will optimise CRM functionalities, enhance student experiences, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Learn International’s operational processes.

Role Description:

This role will work with the custom programs department at Learn International and report The Manager of Custom programs. This role seeks an individual who enjoys project management & logistics in the educational tourism sector. This role will work closely with the Manager of Custom Programs on programme planning for University tour groups visiting various destinations across Europe. This is a fast paced position requiring a lot of flexibility and ability to work well under pressure.

Introduction

 

The Independent Contractor will aid in the oversight of study abroad programs based in the UK. This is an ideal project for a highly organised and dynamic individual with a passion for managing complex projects, building relationships, and driving operational efficiency in the international education sector. You assist in program development and ensure the successful delivery of customised study abroad programs in the UK. The ideal person will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be committed to educational excellence.

 

Summary of Contracted Duties

Programme Development

  • Must have in-depth local knowledge and network in London and knowledge of other cities within England in regards to neighborhood safety, transportation, restaurant locations, accommodation providers etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of other UK destinations: Cardiff and Edinburgh in relation to local transport, transport passes, accommodation and tourist attractions etc.
  • Research various elements of inclusions (accommodation, academic lecturers, company visits, transport, transport passes etc. ) of programming to meet the requirements of agreed proposals.
  • Source and develop new working relationships with third-parties, accommodation providers, transport providers, guest lecturers, tourist locations, and other suppliers as relevant to aid in program operations.
  • Hold 2-3 meetings or as required with US based partners to develop, fine-tune and implement programming per project.

Programme Operations

 

  • Experience managing and working within strict budgets.
  • Contribute to program logistics, including bookings (transport, accommodation, venues, activities) for groups and individuals.
  • Manage purchase orders and payments in coordination with the Accounts team.
  • Vet and maintain relationships with providers, ensuring compliance with insurance and quality standards.
  • Prepare itineraries and review with stakeholders and the Director of Operations.
  • Prepare pre-departure orientations, onsite orientations, and aid in group arrival and departures.
  • Organise program debriefs and analyze evaluations with the Director of Operations.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Logistics, Hospitality, Event Management, Project Management or similar field.
  • London based or nearby location to London
  • 5+ years working within a similar industry.
  • Experience building successful, profitable networks, partnerships and projects
  • Experience creating and working within a budgets.
  • Excellent technology and digital marketing skills – Zoho CRM, Google platforms, Microsoft, Social Media, and CANVA.
  • The ability to travel to various program locations is essential within the UK. Candidates with access to reliable transport are preferred, and a clean driving license is advantageous.
  • Current valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree: Business, Communications, International or Higher Education, Recruitment or similar
  • Experience working with higher education institutions and students over the age of 18
  • Up-to-Date CPR & First Aid Certification

Details

Project Management from: January to December approx hours 40 per week.

This is a remote position and requires flexibility with hours worked.

Role potential to move to a permanent position.

Project Rate: Monthly Project rate of £2300-2500.00 British Pounds based on experience.

  • Ability to stay on-task with little supervision

  • WhatsApp downloaded and installed on their mobile phone
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Creativity and a positive, proactive attitude are essential
  • Knowledge of SEO, video editing and graphic design desirable

* For virtual placements. Normal business hours are in the Irish time zone, GMT+1 in the summer. Interns must be available to speak in-person with their supervisor for at least 1-2 hours per day, Monday-Friday. The rest of the work schedule can be flexible.

  • There will be a high degree of autonomy within the role, and the intern will report to Michelle Yalch, Internships and Study Abroad Manager.
